Hành lá thái nhỏ. Trứng đập ra bát, dùng đũa đánh đều. Đun nóng 2 muỗng canh dầu ăn trong chảo. Thêm 2/3 chỗ hành lá, đảo đều cho hành thơm. Hạ lửa, rồi cho trứng vào, đảo đều tuy nhiên chưa để trứng bị khô hoàn toàn thì cho trứng ra đĩa.
Vặn lửa lớn, thêm 2 muỗng canh dầu và cho nốt chỗ hành lá còn lại vào, đảo đều cho hành thơm rồi cho nước tương vào. Cho cơm vào chiên cho cơm săn lại. Sau đó cho trứng trở lại chảo, đảo đều cho trứng bám vào cơm. Thêm muối, tiêu, dầu mè, mè rang vào đảo thật đều là xong.
